This event will be followed by the FIDE approved World Blitz Championship which will be a double round robin November 21st-22nd 2007. This will apparently have a big qualification event followed by the final. At the last minute it seems Peter Svidler and the defending champion Alexander Grischuk have been included. Although how attractive this event will be to those serious about winning the World Chess Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk (Arrival supposed to be on the 22nd, Opening Ceremony 23rd and Round 1 24th November) is anyone's guess.
